The following questions will help you determine what your needs might be and enable our initial consultation to be as productive as possible.

What is the goal of your Web Site?

Do you already have a registered domain name?

4.

Do you plan on utilizing E-commerce on your Web Site?

5.

What type of content and how many pages would be used on your Web Site?

6.

7.

Do you plan to maintian the Web Site yourself or have Virtual Visuals responsible?

Web Sites are used in numerous fashions. Whether the Web Site will be used as a place for E-commerce or primarlily as an information resource, you should be able to state your main goal in one sentence.

Domain name registration charges vary. Some companies offer free registration with Web hosting. Network Solutions and InterNIC are two places where you may registar your domain name. You should check the availability of the Domain name and at least two alternatives.

If you have not registered a Domain name, we can attempt to find a name that is representative of you in some fashion. A few tips to consider, the shorter the name the better, the easier to spell the better and the more catchy the more memorable. Domain names must be 22 characters or less for a total of 26 characters, with four reserved for the .com, .net, .org or other sufix.

If you already own a Domain name, please have the all the pertinent information available.

Do you already have a Web Site being hosted?

If you already have a Web Site being hosted, please provide the URL so we can become accustomed to the type of content that we will be working with. The better equiped with knowledge, the better the end results will be.

Whether you have an exisiting Web Site or not, let us know of any Web Sites that might have similar goals or content as well as any features that you might like your Web Site to have.

Do you plan on utilizing E-commerce on your Web Site?

Businesses that conduct E-commerce today are tapping into a multi-billion dollar industry. From small businesses with a handful of products to large clothing and media companies with hundreds of items, numerous levels of E-commerce exist. Finding the right solution will make your Web Site efficient and profitable.

In order to accept all forms of payment, including credit cards and checks, you most likely will need a merchant account. If you already have a merchant account, find out if the option to conduct business on the Internet exists. If you do not have a merchant account or your existing account does not provide for the Internet, then there is wide range of providers that you can obtain an account from. Although these are third-party businesses, Virtual Visuals can help find the right provider for you.

What type of content and how many pages would be used on your Web Site?

It might be very difficult to answer this question in the beginning of the process. Start with what type of content you might be interested in and then break that information up into different categories. Again, it can be helpful to visit other Web Sites that have similar content as your desired Web Site. Consider putting the information you gather into outline form.

Different types of pages to consider are home pages that welcome the user to your site, company profile pages, mission statements, product description pages, order forms, and contact information. From here, the possibilities are endless and are only limited by your imagination.

How many images would be used on your Web Site?

Once you have a general idea of what type and how much content will be on your Web Site, the next step is to attempt to figure out how many images might be used on your Web Site. Please note any pertinent information you have about existing images.

For photographs, are they in a computer format? Do they need to be scanned in? Do you need Virtual Visuals to take professional digital images for you?

For graphic files, are they in computer format? If so, do you have the original graphic file available? Do they need to be scanned and edited? Do you need Virtual Visuals to help create or consult on the creation of any graphics?
